    ISS ESG is immediately seeking an ESG Junior Analyst (Climate) to join its Zurich-based ISS-Climate team for a 6-month fixed-term position. Successful candidates will have a data or advisory background and exhibit a passion for the responsible investment business with a focus on climate change. They should have a collaborative approach to work and proven abilities to proactively contribute to problem solving and to work with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.


    The successful candidates will contribute to the implementation of mandates and participate in product development for both our data and advisory services. This includes interactions with colleagues and clients from around the globe and getting involved in several aspects of operations.


    ISS-Climate is a unit within the responsible investment business of ISS ESG. As investors seek to gain a better understanding of their exposure to climate-related risks, ISS-Climate provides data, analytics and advisory services to support financial market participants and governments to understand, measure, and act on climate-related risks and its impact on investments across all asset classes. ISS-Climate is a market leader within its field and highly innovative.


    ISS-Climate also works with the Corporate-serving team of ISS, ISS-Corporate Solutions (ICS) to deliver Green and Social Bond Second Party Opinions (SPOs) to the corporate issuers of those bonds. It is a market leader, with a methodology defined by colleagues in ISS-oekom.


    • Assist in the implementation of advisory mandates of ISS-Climate
      • These will be mostly in the SPO product but sporadically across other offerings
    • Assist in the product development of ISS-Climate
    • Conduct greenhouse gas emissions analysis of investment portfolios
    • Support colleagues and clients on advisory offerings of ISS-Climate including support on day to day communications, operations and report writing


    • Advanced university degree ideally in environmental science, engineering, economics or finance – experience (professional or academic) in financial topics is a bonus
    • Demonstrated interest in climate change, investment carbon footprinting, GHG-accounting, carbon footprinting or Life Cycle Analysis
    • Fluent oral and written command of German and English
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to act as a team member in a multicultural environment
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
    • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications including a very good command of Excel
