  • Overview

    Data Quality team is responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of master and reference data related to companies, financial instruments, institutional and insider ownership, company financials, corporate actions, directors, executive compensation, and social, environmental and corporate governance (ESG) risk factors.


    As an Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing data solutions related to sourcing, analyzing, mapping, transforming and manipulating data and perform data quality analysis. You will analyze and describe data, derive insights, discover relations, patterns and trends, and identify and address data quality issues.


    You will primarily use MS SQL Server 2017 for most part of your work. In addition, you are welcome to leverage other technical tools that will help you in your role.


    • Develop and maintain deep understanding of reference and master data related to global capital markets, financial instruments, market identifiers, corporate actions, ownership, financial statements, and the domain of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) risk
    • Understand underlying data architecture, flow and processes
    • Develop and implement various data processes, logics and analytical metrics involving large multi-dimensional, multi-vendor datasets
    • Develop automated data quality tests and analytical dashboards
    • Perform rigorous testing of stored procedures/functions and data applications
    • Perform root-cause analysis of data issues and drive remediation
    • Respond to queries and issues raised by internal data users and educate them about data
    • Define, document and maintain data standards, definition, methodology, logic and processes


    • Bachelor’s in engineering or MCA
    • 2-3 years of experience as a SQL Developer
    • Professional courses or certifications related to capital markets (e.g. Post-Graduate Program, CFA L1, NCFM certifications, online courses)
    • Strong experience of working with capital markets data such as company financials, financial instruments, insider and institutional ownership, corporate actions, corporate structure, mutual funds etc.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with global business and technical teams
    • Self-starter and quick-learner
    • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment independently with little supervision
      Good to have:
    • Microsoft SQL Certifications
    • Familiarity with various company filings such as annual report, 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, DEF-14, 13-F etc.
    • Experience of working with market data systems such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Compustat, Factset, EDGAR, IDC, Thomson Reuters, IHS Markit etc.
