  • Overview

    Data Quality team is responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of master and reference data related to companies, financial instruments, institutional and insider ownership, company financials, corporate actions, directors, executive compensation, and social, environmental and corporate governance (ESG) risk factors.


    As an Analyst, you will play a critical role in maintaining data integrity by employing various analytical techniques and by leveraging technology. You will analyze and describe data, derive insights, discover relations, patterns and trends, and identify and address data quality issues.


    • Develop and maintain deep understanding of reference and master data related to global capital markets, financial instruments, market identifiers, corporate actions, ownership, financial statements, and the domain of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) risk
    • Understand underlying data architecture, flow and processes
    • Validate data processes and logics involving large multi-dimensional, multi-vendor datasets
    • Analyze impact of corporate actions such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, de-listing and bankruptcy/restructuring on current and historical data
    • Secondary data research using company filings and disclosures, vendor data and websites of
    • market regulators and market intermediaries
    • Define and implement automated data quality tests
    • Monitor data quality using different metrics and dashboards; Perform root-cause analysis of
    • issues and drive remediation
    • Closely collaborate with data vendors/providers to acquire knowledge about data and to
    • address quality issues
    • Respond to queries and issues raised by internal data users and educate them about data
    • Define, document and maintain data standards, definition, methodology, logic and processes
    • Periodically create, review and update reference data


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
    • MBA Finance or CFA L1/L2 or similar professional certification will be a big plus
    • 2-4 years of experience in data research, management and analysis
    • Intermediate level skills in SQL and Excel/VBA
    • Solid understanding of data and concepts related to global capital markets, corporate actions,
    • financial statements and financial instruments
    • Familiarity with various company filings such as annual report, 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, DEF-14, 13-F etc.
    • Experience of working with market data systems such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Compustat,
    • Factset, EDGAR, IDC, Thomson Reuters, IHS Markit etc.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with global business and technical teams
    • Self-starter and quick-learner
    • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment independently with little supervision
