    Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS) is currently seeking a full-time Korean-speaking Research Analyst based in Singapore to cover the Korean and other Asian markets.

    Responsibilities

    • Distill financial and corporate governance information and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS benchmark policy guidelines
    • Analyze corporate governance, responsible investment and financial information to process data and write research reports covering Korea, and other Asian countries
    • Assume responsibility of completion and quarterly updates to ISS' Governance QualityScore product
    • Answer internal/external client/issuer queries on research reports and/or QualityScore rating and be able to discuss QualityScore methodology in detail
    • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, shareholder issues and responsible investment gathered through research and engagement with company executives, institutional investors, and government/regulatory/listing authorities
    • Monitor regulatory developments in the Korean market
    • Research and develop thematic research reports covering Korea, and other Asian countries

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree at a minimum. Degree or post-graduate qualification in finance, law, economics, business, accounting, or equivalent experience an advantage with related 
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in Korean and English
    • Passion for corporate governance and responsible investment combined with a strong desire to learn and develop
    • Deep understanding of financial and non-financial investor concerns, especially the role of corporate governance and ESG from an investor perspective
    • Strong analytical ability, including financial and quantitative literacy and attention to detail
    • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to prioritize, anticipate, and deliver multiple, sometimes competing objectives under tight deadlines
    • Proficiency in the use of web-based and Microsoft Office applications
    • Experience and knowledge of financial analysis, corporate governance and proxy voting issues is preferred
    • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines
    • Singaporean nationals or PRs preferred
