    We are currently seeking a Sr. Associate to join our QBIT (Quality Assurance Benchmarking and Independent Testing) Analytics Team in Mumbai, India.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Lead verification of analytical tools and data related to investment performance analysis, financial intelligence, stock ranking, portfolio analytics and performance attribution, and environment, social and corporate governance risk analysis
    • Devise data and model verification strategy, develop and implement verification frameworks and prototypes, and perform data quality analysis
    • Closely collaborate with data engineers, and software development and product teams to ensure accuracy and reliability of tools and data
    • Evaluate model specifications, data processes and business logics for accuracy, completeness, thoroughness and potential dislocations
    • End-to-end project and stakeholder management in a global setting
    • Software deployment and release management
    • Provide expertise and leadership on making technical decisions, hiring and mentoring junior team members, and focusing on excellence in project management and delivery discipline
    • Promote an environment that fosters commitment to rigor in data research and analysis operational excellence, collaboration and knowledge sharing 

     

    Note: This is a techno-functional role that blends the domain of capital markets and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) risk with technology and data analysis. You will primarily work on technologies such as MS SQL Server 2017 and VBA/R/Python.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors/Masters in Engineering/Statistics/Mathematics/Econometrics with strong experience in analytical programming using VBA/SQL/R/Python in the context of data manipulation and transformation, data wrangling or data analysis
    • Good understanding of quantitative methods, investment performance analysis, portfolio analytics and financial statements. An MBA (finance), or CFA level 1 or 2, or CIPM will be preferred.
    • Hands-on experience and understanding of capital markets data (e.g. company and security attributes, financial instruments, accounting variables, corporate action, institutional and insider stock ownership etc.). Experience of working on data provided by financial market data vendors such as Bloomberg, Factset, S&P Capital IQ, Compustat, Thomson Reuters, IDS or Markit will be a big plus.
    • Overall 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
    • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to transform data into actionable insights, identify patterns, trends, relationships and clusters in the data
    • Proven track record of excellence in project management
    • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with global business and technical teams
    • Self-starter and quick-learner
    • Ability to adapt and work in a fast paced environment independently with little supervision
