    Corporate Governance Data Analyst (Singapore: Chinese-speaking)

     

    ISS is seeking a few temporary full-time Date Analysts to conduct data collection and analysis on publicly traded companies in China and Taiwan, with a focus on corporate governance data. Common tasks include processing annual reports and company disclosures. The position also entails research on local laws and regulations and communication of collected data to ISS' Research team. This position will be based in Singapore.

    Responsibilities

    • Search for, collect and verify data (of basic and intermediate levels of complexity) for companies based on current collection methodologies and acceptable sources;
    • Research independently on company information, market practices, regulatory framework
    • Attend to internal queries and requests to ensure data captured is aligned with data collection methodologies and research policies and guidelines;
    • Conduct external communication with corporate executives to understand and seek clarification on their public disclosures;
    • Comply with established work process standards to ensure quality of data collected;
    • Constantly reflect on and contribute to the improvement of data collection methodologies and manual creation;
    • Escalate data interpretation issues, as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Management Science or any related fields, or equivalent experience;
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in Chinese (both simplified and traditional) and English;
    • Digitally savvy, working knowledge with database (e.g. SQL) would be an advantage;
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills;
    • Ability to digest large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information with high level of patience;
    • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines;
    • Experience or demonstrable interest in corporate governance research is preferred;
    • Eligibility to work is required (Singapore nationals/PRs)
