  • Overview

    ISS is seeking a Senior Corporate Governance Research Analyst for its office in Berlin, Germany. You will analyze corporate governance and financial information and write research reports on publicly traded companies in the German-speaking region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). You will collaborate with other analysts on research and articles, deepening your understanding of technical terminology in the corporate governance and investment management field.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write research reports on publicly traded companies
    • Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings of companies in the German-speaking region
    • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment management, and shareholder issues
    • Engage with companies, institutional investors, and various organizations and government/regulatory/listing authorities
    • Monitor, analyze, and record governance-related data and information provided by companies
    • Liaise with company representatives to procure publicly disclosed information
    • Participate and conduct research to support policy formulation and market guidelines
    • Answer internal/external client/issuer queries on research reports
    • Write quarterly reports and periodic articles for publication
    • Collaborate with other analysts on working committees and/or projects

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Law and/or Political Science (or equivalent) is required
    • Two to five years of experience in corporate governance / investment analysis / research with a focus on the German-speaking region is preferred; special knowledge of the Swiss market is advantageous
    • Fluency (both spoken and written) in English and German is required; French is advantageous
    • Strong analytical ability and understanding of finance and capital markets
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; good eye for detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines
    • Ability to work independently while also being a team player
