Position Overview

We are seeking 2 Sustainability Data Analysts to conduct data collection and analysis on a global universe of companies, with a focus on quantifiable environmental performance, including carbon, water and waste. Common tasks include following standards and methodologies, processing Corporate Sustainability Reports, Annual Reports and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) reports, as well as conducting industry and issue-related research.

The Sustainability Data Analyst is primarily responsible for the process and delivery of research and analysis of publicly traded companies. The position also entails external communication of research findings to clients, correspondence with companies, and interpretation of collected data through the application of various overlays, and applied analysis of collected data in the context of world events, legal frameworks, sanctions, and evolving methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily primary research on assigned companies
  • Apply standard qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to collected data
  • Generate required reports and summaries of data collected
  • Participate in various working committees and/or projects
  • Gain understanding of sustainability issues through research and contact with company executives and institutional investors as well as through participation in conference calls, webinars, and other training event
  • Complete ancillary tasks as directed
  • Work quickly and accurately in order to meet scheduled research deadlines

 

Qualifications

Professional skills and qualifications:

  • Graduate level degree, preferably in engineering or environmental science
  • Relevant professional experience in ESG/responsible investment/sustainability is desirable
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of sustainability topics
  • Previous research experience
  • Solid writing and research skills, including the ability to produce basic analysis
  • Familiarity with, and interest in, social and environmental issues
  • Broad interest in the business and financial world
