Position Overview

ISS is immediately seeking a Corporate Governance Analyst for the Spanish & Portuguese markets. You will analyze corporate governance and financial information and write research reports on publicly traded companies in Spain and Portugal based on ISS' voting guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write detailed research reports on publicly traded companies
  • Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings
  • Engage with companies and institutional investors on shareholder meetings
  • Answer internal/external queries on research reports
  • Contribute articles to regular ISS publications
  • Assist with policy formulation
  • Participate in various projects and development opportunities
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment and shareholder issues

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of finance/capital markets and corporate governance, preferably with 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate governance/investment analysis/research with a focus on the Spanish & Portuguese markets
  • Relevant Masters' degree, e.g. law, economics, finance, business or political science
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese is an asset.
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills
  • Very strong analytical ability, with the ability to assimilate large quantities of information
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working successfully in a team environment
  • Organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills: able to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines, particularly during the season of Iberian general meetings.
