Position Overview

ISS is seeking a Head of French Research, based in Paris who will lead the French research team. This person will work closely with other ISS research team leads across Europe, the Americas and globally, and will regularly interact with clients as well as with other key ISS teams such as sales, marketing, and client services.


  • Lead the ISS French research team, with analysts based in Paris and Brussels, responsible for production of the highest quality research reports and voting recommendations to investors on French companies
  • Monitor French corporate governance developments and ensure ISS French voting guidelines and research reflect market standards and best practice
  • Manage dialogue with French companies in accordance with the Engagement and Draft report Disclosure Policy for the French market
  • Client contact and external speaking engagements


  • Expertise in corporate governance and investment/finance/capital markets, preferably with 8 to 10 years of experience in corporate governance/investment analysis/research with a focus on the French market
  • Strong experience in management
  • Thought leader
  • Open, organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills
  • Very strong analytical ability
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English is required
  • Relevant higher degree, e.g. law, economics, finance, business or political science may be an advantage
